When his father took him to a
Tufts-Bowdoin game while growing up in Somerville, Mass., or, when
as a high school senior in Southern New Jersey, he began getting
recruiting letters from places like Allegheny, Albright and William
Paterson, Keith had no idea how big a part of his life Division III
football would become.
After one season as the mid-Atlantic columnist in 2000, Keith
began writing D3football.com's national column, Around the Nation,
in 2001 and has done so every week since, taking a break only
occasionally to get married or welcome a new child into the world.
The column mixes features, analysis, opinions, trends and
statistics from Division III's nearly 240 teams and 30
conferences.
Each summer, Keith coordinates the production of Kickoff, a
comprehensive online-only season preview special edition that first
went live in 2005.
Keith also works alongside Pat Coleman as a color analyst on
gameday broadcasts, including each Stagg Bowl since 1999, has
recorded a weekly podcast with Pat since 2006 and writes for the
blog, the Daily Dose.
A cornerback/free safety for Randolph-Macon from 1994-97, Keith is
a full-time employee of The Washington Post, as its Night NFL
Editor. Keith worked for three years as a copy editor at USA Today,
and has previously been a writer, columnist and designer at three
Virginia newspapers.
Keith lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, April, and two
children.
