BOSTON, Mass. – An eleven-goal fourth quarter run led the Endicott Gulls men's lacrosse team to a 20-9 win over the Wentworth Institute of Technology Wednesday afternoon in both team's regular season finales.

The Leopards make their third straight playoff appearance with a regular season mark of 12-5 (4-3 CCC) while the Gulls hold a 14-1 (8-0 CCC) record as the postseason approaches.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • After the Gulls opened the scoring just under two minutes into the first quarter, freshman Gabe Cobham (Westbury, N.Y.) knotted the score at the 12:01 mark before freshman Brendan Kroll (Wakefield, R.I.) gave the hosts a 2-1 lead 54 seconds later. Sophomore Nick Graap (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) tied the score for Endicott with 1:01 left in the opening frame.
  • Kroll gave Wentworth a 3-2 lead 1:15 into the second quarter before the Gulls responded just over three minutes later. Back-to-back tallies for the Leopards by sophomore Jake Caraluzzi (Brookfield, Conn.) and sophomore Colin Ocampo (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) pushed Wentworth to a 5-3 by the 7:40 mark before Endicott took a 6-5 lead on three straight goals by the 3:03 mark. However, Ocampo tallied with one second in the frame to knot the score at six aside by halftime.
  • A Caraluzzi tally to open the third quarter was answered with a goal by sophomore Tommy Tyksinski (Guiderland, N.Y.), marking a 7-7 score before Kroll gave the Leopards an 8-7 lead at the 6:17 mark. Junior Cam Fernandez (Mendham, N.J.) and junior Guerin Favreau (Woodstock Valley, Conn.) scored within 56 seconds of each other, marking a 9-8 score before Ocampo knotted the score at nine aside with a goal with 42 seconds left in the frame.
  • Over a 14-minute span in the fourth quarter, Endicott rattled off eleven unanswered goals, including three off the stick of senior Nick Pagluiso (Shelton, Conn.), to grab a 20-9 win.
  • Junior Tom Gardner (West Windsor, N.J.) made a career-high 21 saves in the setback.
