Men's Lacrosse Concludes Inaugural Season With a 13-5 Loss to the Pilgrims

CHICOPEE, MA - The Elms College Men's Lacrosse team hosted New England College Wednesday night on Leary Field for their inaugural season finale.

BASICS
Score: Elms College 5 | New England College 13
Records: Blazers 5-9, 3-7 (GNAC) | Pilgrims 4-11, 3-7 (GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

New England College started off by scoring the first three goals of the game. However, the Blazers were undeterred and continued to put pressure on the Pilgrims defense by firing multiple shots on goal. Elms broke through when first-year Jesse Hagen (Cold Spring, NY) scored for the Blazers, assisted by sophomore Tosh Marshall (Sylvan Lake, AB, Canada) to cut the deficit to 3-1. However, the Pilgrims would carve up the Elms defense in the second quarter to score five goals while shutting out the Blazers offense from scoring to take a 8-1 lead into halftime. The Blazers scored another goal in the third, courtesy of first-year Luciano Jordan Canino (Dalton, MA), but the Pilgrims matched that with a goal of their own to keep a seven goal lead. New England College would score four more goals in the third, but the Blazers received a couple of late goals from Canino, first-years Nicky Miltenberger (Ridge, NY), and Miah Rondon to give Elms five goals for the night. Even though they were close to matching the goal total of the Pilgrims in the fourth, the Blazers fell 13-5.
