How It Happened…
  • First Half: In a match that saw heavy rain showers, the two teams only combined for five shots in the opening stanza. Cunningham made two of her match-high four saves in the first 11 minutes of action. Freshman Grace Slevin (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox) looked to put the Bullets ahead with under six minutes remaining as she took the final shot attempt, but it was blocked.
  • Second Half:  The Bullets struggled offensively as sophomore Erika Muskus (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains Fanwood) had the only shot on goal, but F&M's Sara Ghorashi stopped it. F&M's Emily Cleary shot at the cage with five minutes to go, but Cunningham turned aside the shot to send the match into overtime.
  • Overtime: In the first extra session for the Bullets this fall, it took 4:44 for a team to notch a tally, and unfortunately, it was not Gettysburg. The Diplomats Izzy Hunter crossed from the left side of the box to Meg O'Callahan, who kicked into the upper 90 for the game-winner.
By the Numbers
  • F&M held the edge in shots 9-2 while Gettysburg finished with the slight 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Centennial Conference Standings
  • As of after the match, the Bullets currently sit in the fourth spot in the conference standings. McDaniel College (11-2, 5-1 CC) is first followed by Dickinson College (8-1-4, 4-0-2 CC), and Haverford College (10-1-1, 4-0-1 CC).
Where the Series Stands Now
Gettysburg holds a 26-6 lead over Franklin & Marshall College in the all-time series that dates back to 1989. The last time the Bullets fell to the Diplomats was during the 2008 season.
