Crusaders Fall to No. 1 Seed Trinity University in SCAC Semifinal Match

GEORGETOWN, Texas – 4th-seeded University of Dallas women's soccer team concluded its 2019 season with a 2-0 setback to top-seeded Trinity University on Saturday. Dallas (10-7-2) withstood the first 18 shots the Tigers (15-3-0), which included 13 in the first half. Olivia Severson (La Crosse, Wis.) made eight saves and the team had a stop of its own before the first Trinity goal was made at the 55:55-minute mark by Molly Sheridan.

Sheridan was responsible for all the offense required in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Semifinal, as she scored both goals.

Severson did not let up making two more big saves around three and seven minutes later. The senior goalkeeper managed to grab a season-high 16 saves.

Nyah Shepherd would find Sheridan for her second goal of the match in the 65th minute.

Dallas did not have much of a counter, as the possession was on TU's offensive side of the field most of the match. Trinity took four corner kicks per half.

Dallas has advanced to the SCAC Semifinals two years in a row and three of the last four appearances in the SCAC Tournament. The 10 wins marks a seven-win improvement from 2019 for third-year head coach Lexi Stinson.

The Crusaders celebrated its third SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year, six SCAC All-Conference Players, and four United States Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA) All-Americans.
