Senior defender Marcelo Cunha (Goiania, Brazil) gave host UMass Boston (8-0, 2-0 LEC) the lead in the 17th minute when he put in a free kick from 25 yards out for the 1-0 advantage. The Beacons took the one goal lead heading into halftime after outshooting RIC (5-3, 1-1 LEC) by a 10-7 margin over the first 45 minutes. |
