The two teams battled back and forth throughout the first half with both squads having solid scoring chances throughout the stanza. Curry (1-0) narrowly missed getting on the board with less than 10 seconds left in the first half when a shot from senior midfielder Cassandra Grasso (Wilmington, MA) bounced off the post to send the game into halftime in a scoreless tie. Curry held a 6-4 advantage in shots through the first 45 minutes. |

RIC (0-1) broke the deadlock at the 52:02 mark as senior midfielder Stephanie Ricci (Smithfield, RI) blasted in a shot from just outside the top of the box, off the post and in to put the Anchorwomen up 1-0. Curry answered just over a minute later when Grasso converted a penalty kick to knot the game at 1-1. The Colonels took their first lead of the game at the 55:40 mark when freshman forward Tayla Randall (Walpole, MA) dropped in a shot after free kick from senior defender Jules Petrucelli (Milford, CT). |

Curry upped its lead to 3-1 at the 75:14 mark when sophomore midfielder Megan Ladner (Bourne, MA) started a breakaway and fed a pass to freshman Soleil Galagarza (Pawtucket, RI), who connected on a shot from 15 yards out. The visiting Colonels made the score 4-1 when Grasso notched her second goal of the game on an unassisted tally at the 78:09 mark. RIC cut the lead down to two, 4-2, with 6:21 remaining on an unassisted goal by sophomore midfielder Breanne Ford (Schenectady, NY). |

Curry held a 16-10 advantage in shots and a 5-2 mark in corner kicks. Sophomore goalkeeper Erica Edwards (North Kingstown, RI) had six saves in goal in the loss (0-1) for the hosts, while sophomore Kristen Buzzotta (Lynnfield, MA) notched two stops in the victory (1-0) for Curry. |
