Tigers Defeated on the Road

The Trojans looked to be a strong team offensively from the beginning. Four shots were taken by them within the first 10 minutes of the match. Two of those were saved by IW goalkeeper, Chris Rimmer (JR/Warrington, England), while one was blocked and the other went wide. The Tigers were not so lucky at the 33rd minute when Hannibal was able to sneak one in, making the score 0-1. Iowa Wesleyan tried to answer back when they had a corner kick opportunity, but Mariano Moreno (SO/Madrid, Spain)'s shot was saved by the Trojan goalkeeper.

Mariano Moreno and Francisco Javier Saldana both would try to put IW on the board before the end of the half but were unable to make it a reality. Hannibal made one more goal during the first half to go into halftime with a score of 0-2.

Hannibal scored their third goal 10 minutes into the second half after and Iowa Wesleyan foul. The Tigers did their best to rally back with two shots by Francisco Javier Saldana (SO/Madrid, Spain) and Carlos Lopez (SO/El Masnou, Spain), but the Trojan goalkeeper would not let anything passed. At the 22 minute mark, The Trojans were able to capitalize on a corner kick to obtain their fourth and final goal of the match.

The Tigers would score their only goal for the day with just under two minutes left in playing time. Jeinner Farfan (SO/Guayaquil, Ecuador) was able to take a penalty kick and put IW on the board for his first goal of the season. Mariano Moreno lead the team with three shots. Trevor Haasis (SR/Williamsburg, IA) recorded five saves in the second half and Chris Rimmer recorded 3 in the first half.
