Sajbin's Second Half Goal Helps UMass Dartmouth Blank Salve Regina, 1-0

NEWPORT, R.I. --  Junior Yorik Sajbin's (Fall River, Mass.) first career goal 5:41 into the second half proved to be the game-winner and lifted UMass Dartmouth to a 1-0 non-league college men's soccer victory over Salve Regina Wednesday afternoon at Toppa Field.

Sajbin converted a pass from senior Junior Monteiro (New Bedford, Mass.) on the lone marker of the match for the visiting Corsairs (2-1), and sophomore Jake Castro (Swansea, Mass.) made that stand up in goal with a career-best 13 save effort that included a pair of point-blank stops in the closing minutes of action.  Sophomore Nathan Reid (Magnolia, Del.) made four saves in the setback for the host Seahawks (2-1-1), who held a 22-7 overall shots advantage (13-5 on goal) for the contest.

UMass Dartmouth hosts Framingham State in a non-league outing on Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field beginning at 4:00 pm, while Salve Regina entertains UMass Boston in a non-league match on Saturday afternoon at Toppa Field that begins at Noon.
