Tommies continue overtime karma, win 1-0

Tessa Trettel scored 4:19 into the first overtime to give No. 19-ranked St. Thomas Women's Soccer a 1-0 victory over St. Ben's in a battle of MIAC title contenders Wednesday at UST's South Field.

Kaley Roberts had the assist and Sarah Pasternak had five saves for St. Thomas (11-2-2 overall, 6-1-1 MIAC), which moved into a tie for the MIAC lead with the home victory.

There are three conference games left and Augsburg (6-1-1) and UST share the lead, with St. Catherine (6-2) one point behind and St. Ben's (8-4-2, 5-2-1) also in the chase.

The Tommies have played five overtime games this month in seven overall contests, winning three and tying two. They also won an early-September overtime game at No. 3-ranked Washington (Mo.).
