LEXINGTON, Ky. - Manchester's men's soccer team traveled south to take on HCAC opponent Transylvania on Saturday. One goal is all the separated the two sides as Manchester came home with a 1-0 victory.
The lone goal of the match was scored in the 71st minute from Jackson Fagan (Marion, Ind./Marion). Fagan's goal was assisted by Ruben Gonzalez (Sylvania, Ohio, Sylvania Northview) and was Fagan's first of the 2022 season.
The Pioneers outnumbered the Spartans in just about every category on the afternoon. Transylvania out-shot the Spartans a staggering 4-17. A solid performance in goal from Aaron Ketchmark (Kouts, Ind./Kouts) kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard. Ketchmark's 11 save day earned him another clean sheet on the year.
Transylvania falls to 5-3-3 overall and 2-2 in the HCAC. The Black & Gold improve to 2-5-4 on the year and remain unbeaten in HCAC play at 2-0-2. The Spartans will be back in action with a midweek battle down at Rose-Hulman. Kickoff in Terre Haute is set for 7 p.m.
