Men's Soccer Rallies Wittenberg

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester men's soccer team rallied against the Wittenberg Tigers with a game-tying goal in the 83rd minute.

Manchester scored the first goal of the match during the 30th minute.  The goal was scored by junior, Noah Black (Swayzee, Ind./Mississinewa), who drew a penalty kick after a yellow card was recorded for Wittenberg. This marks the goal as Black's second on the season.  Later in the half, Manchester did concede one goal to Wittenberg's Kees Ciric, which was assisted by Salih Mohammed, in the 38th minute.

The Spartans worked hard offensively in the second half, drawing a few penalties from Wittenberg.  As the 50th minute approached, Kees Ciric emerged with another goal for the Tigers.  The goal was assisted by Nick Harding and Jack Pascoal.  This goal has been recorded as Ciric's second of the season.

After Wittenberg's second goal, Manchester worked hard on offense and defense to fight back into the match.  After a double yellow card, Noah Black nets another goal to tie the Spartans 2-2.  The goal came in the 83rd minute, seven minutes before the game's conclusion.  Given the time left in the match, both teams fought tirelessly to break the tie.  No team remained victorious, leaving the ending score to be 2-2.

The Spartans update their record to 0-2-2, and look to gain their first victory tomorrow, as they are back in action at Spartan Stadium against Alma College.  Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
