BW Men’s Closes Out Season in OAC Tournament Semifinals, Drops Match to Ohio Northern

LIMA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team closed out its season as it fell to Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal match by a final score of 5-0 on the Westwood Tennis Center.

In the OAC Tournament, the team that secures five points first wins the match and all matches on the court at the time of the winning point will be deemed as not finished.

Ohio Northern (17-5), who was the top seed, advances to the OAC Tournament Champion on May 4ends its season. BW (15-7), was the fourth seed, ends its season

Doubles

  • Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and sophomore All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) fell at first doubles by a score of 8-6
  • Sophomore Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) and Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) fell at second doubles by a score of 8-2
  • Junior All-OAC Aidan Hicks (Oneida, N.Y.) and junior All-OAC Adam Zeidler (Bay Village/Bay) fell at third doubles by a score of 8-4

Singles

  • McGee did not finish at first singles with a score of 6-6
  • Horvath did not finish at second singles with scores of 3-6 and 1-2
  • Sophomore Gavin Binni (Sylvania/Northview) fell at third singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-0
  • Weingart fell at fourth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
  • Harders did not finish at fifth singles with scores of 1-6 and 1-4
  • Zeidler did not finish at sixth singles with scores of 1-6 and 3-4
